ANQA STUDIOS is an international Design Studio based in Dubai. We design products that respect the principles of sustainable development, by using as much recycled and sustainable materials as possible, so that even their waste may be upcycled. Learn more about our Impact approach.
ABOUT THE FIRST COLLECTION
The entrepreneurial spirit has been at the heart of our first creations. That's why our first collection comes in vibrant pink. We want to express by that, that plastic isn't dead yet and somewhere is trying to rot in a dump, but that we're trying to breathe new life into the material, so that it is „still in the pink" (meaning: alive).
Every furniture item is handmade and an unique piece of art.
ABOUT THE NAME
We want to take big steps towards the sustainable circular economy and use main materials that have been used before and are now reaching their peak.
We take this waste and create a new little miracle out of it. Matching this approach our brand name ANQA is derived from the Arabic mythology, where the Anqa is a large bird of prey and comparable to the Greek phoenix. And the phoenix is an immortal bird that cyclically regenerates itself, to re-create a new version of itself.
ABOUT THE FOUNDERS
ANQA STUDIOS is founded by the entrepreneurs and sustainability advocates Jan Rothkranz and Doloris Schreiber.
They want to combine their forward-thinking approach with traditional solutions. Reusing things is not new. Reusing plastic, on the other hand, is.
Their work aims to think differently about material resources that we already have.
